How to Care for Your Mint

Light

Mint enjoys bright, indirect sunlight. A windowsill with soft daylight is perfect. Avoid harsh midday sun, which can scorch the leaves.

Water

Keep the soil lightly moist.Water when the top of the soil feels dry to the touch. Mint doesn’t like to sit in soggy soil, so let excess water drain away.

Temperature

Mint prefers mild, steady conditions.Keep it away from cold drafts, radiators, or areas that fluctuate in temperature.

Feeding

A gentle liquid feed every 3–4 weeks during spring and summer helps support new growth. It’s optional, but helpful.

Trimming

Pinch or trim the tips regularly. This encourages the sprout to grow fuller and bushier rather than tall and leggy. Trimming also keeps the plant healthy.

Repotting

As the roots grow, your mint may eventually need a slightly larger pot. Choose a pot with drainage holes and fresh compost when the plant begins to feel crowded.
