    Welcome

A warm welcome to the Wright Counselling and Supervision Service™ website, which is also abbreviated to WCSS™

WCSS is a privately owned and independent company, established in 2017. Its primary purpose is to offer mental-health–related services to individuals and to for-profit and not-for-profit business entities, which include, but are not limited to, education, government, and charities. It holds both contractual and sub‑contractual agreements, mainly for its primary areas of work: clinical therapeutic counselling; clinical counselling supervision; reflective practice (for non‑counselling professionals); and consultancy services. Other related activities it undertakes include any work elements connected to at least one of the primary roles listed above.

    Clinical Counselling Supervision

Working aspects are subject to ongoing professional clinical supervision, which WCSS has independently sought to advocate, support, and facilitate for the wellbeing and development of the service and its staff, ensuring a high-quality, authentic, and professional service for current clients and members of the public seeking assistance.

    Full Rights to Autonomous Treatment

WCSS reminds individuals of their full autonomy and control to make decisions that are best for them, rather than WCSS assuming any power, leverage, or control over anyone. Clients have full control over their therapeutic work. The counsellor facilitates and prioritises the client's therapeutic journey above all else, and will kindly address any issues or obstacles if the counsellor's professional judgment suggests a client's temporary struggle to self‑guide, so they can steer themselves back onto their chosen course. In this scenario, WCSS incorporates a theoretical approach known as the person‑centred approach, derived from the origins of humanistic psychology.

    About the WCSS Owner

My name is Benjamin Wright. I am an accredited Clinical Therapeutic Counsellor and a Clinical Person-Centred Supervisor.

With over 12 years of clinical experience and based in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire, I offer professional and confidential face-to-face and online mental health services. I place great importance on time and the quality of attention—two key values at the heart of my therapeutic practice. Click here for more information about me and my practice

    Membership Affiliations

I hold an active individual membership with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). This membership is non‑obligatory for my work but is vital for earning credibility and trust with members of the public and demonstrating proficiency, competency, and merit. I currently hold "Accredited Registrant" status with the NCPS and am in the preparation stages of working towards professional accreditation status. I use "Acc" as part of my post‑nominal letters below my name in formal correspondence such as emails and letters.

The NCPS does not present itself as a governing body for its members and trusts that members are professional enough to carry out their work and approaches without enforcement. Both I and WCSS strongly support and adhere to the NCPS ethical framework and work to follow it across all services offered.

A professional certification badge indicating accredited registration. On the left, a circular logo composed of stylized blue and green geometric shapes surrounds the text “NCPS.” In the center, a teal badge reads “ACCREDITED REGISTRANT MNCPPS (Acc.),” signifying professional membership and accreditation. On the right, a purple logo and accompanying text from the “professional standards authority” state “accredited register,” confirming recognition by a regulatory body. The overall design communicates trust, credibility, and adherence to professional standards in counseling or psychological services.

Full Rights To Privacy & Confidentiality

The word “SAFE” is gently spelled out using four wooden Scrabble tiles, each letter carrying a quiet weight: S (1), A (1), F (4), E (1). The tiles sit on a soft white surface, evoking calm and clarity. Their warm tones and simple arrangement suggest comfort, stability, and the small but meaningful steps we take toward feeling secure. A visual whisper of reassurance — safety built letter by letter

WCSS places the highest importance on privacy and confidentiality across all services. WCSS enforces a strict confidentiality policy and does not share or sell sensitive

    information under any circumstances.

As WCSS is privately and independently owned, no information is disclosed to third parties unless explicit written consent is given granting permission to share.

Confidentiality in counselling differs from other services that may share information with third parties. At WCSS, information is only disclosed in exceptional situations:

When there is an immediate risk of harm or danger to someone’s safety or when required by a valid court order

Counselling notes are kept brief, limited to what is absolutely necessary, and stored in accordance with our counselling retention policy. WCSS is registered with the Information Commisioners Office (ICO)

Horizontal lines flank the text on both sides, adding visual balance and symmetry. The design is clean and modern, emphasizing the concept of dedicated time investment—often associated with mastery, discipline, and long-term growth. It evokes the popular idea that 10,000 hours of focused practice can lead to expertise, as popularized by Malcolm Gladwell’s “Outliers."
A logo for Cariño Counselling, featuring a minimalist circular graphic in light beige. Inside the circle, a stylized sun rises or sets over a horizon, evoking warmth, renewal, and guidance. To the right of the graphic, the name “CARIÑO COUNSELLING” is displayed in uppercase serif font, with “CARIÑO” including a tilde over the “N,” suggesting Spanish linguistic roots and an affectionate tone. Logo for Strive Affordable Counselling. The design features the word “Strive” in a clean, modern sans-serif font, with the initial “S” stylized inside a circular emblem. The circle is split diagonally: the upper half is a warm yellow, evoking optimism and hope, while the lower half is a deep charcoal grey, suggesting stability and depth. The stylized “S” is white, standing out clearly against both halves of the circle. Beneath “Strive,” the tagline “Affordable Counselling” appears in smaller, grey text, reinforcing the service’s commitment to accessible mental health support. The overall aesthetic is professional yet welcoming, balancing clarity with emotional warmth
A logo for Counselling Directory, a UK-based platform connecting individuals with professional mental health support. The design features two stylized human figures—one in black, one in grey—positioned side by side with a speech bubble above them, symbolizing dialogue and connection. To the right, the text reads “Counselling Directory,” with “Counselling” in red and “Directory” in teal. Beneath this, the tagline “Connecting you with professional support” appears in smaller black font. The overall design conveys accessibility, trust, and the importance of open communication in therapeutic contexts.
